AORUS Z370 Ultra Gaming Motherboard Review

With the launch of Intel’s 8th Generation “Coffee Lake” processors we have a whole lineup of Z370 motherboards. Gigabyte’s high-end gaming brand AORUS currently has six Z370 motherboards. Today we are checking out the Z370 Ultra Gaming, which sits right in the middle of the lineup. This board will definitely be a great option for many people moving over to the Z370 platform as it has a low cost and of course in typical AORUS fashion plenty of RGB lighting. This ATX motherboard features dual M.2 slots, ALC1220 120dB SNR HD Audio with a Smart Headphone Amp, Intel LAN, Smart Fan 5 support, and USB 3.1 support. Let’s get this board on our test bench and see what it can do!

ASRock X299E-ITX/ac Motherboard Review

ASRock's X99 Mini-ITX was one of a kind, and with the advent of Intel's X299 chipset, ASRock once again breaks the monotony of full-sized ATX motherboards and shrinks the HEDT X299 platform for small form factor (SFFPC) builds. The X299E-ITX/ac has many advantages over its predecessor. For starters, you get three M.2 slots for drives, quad channel memory (albeit SO-DIMMs), a nice VRM, and even a custom water block you can buy separately. In fact, after working with the motherboard, I highly recommend buying the Bitspower full cover block if you plan on heavy overclocking, as it also cools down the VRMs. Without further hesitation, let's see what the X299E-ITX/AC has to offer.

If you'd ask an enthusiast to part out their dream build, most, if not all would include some kind of liquid cooling. However, in the real world, many people are discouraged from water cooling due to its high cost. Also, the thought of mixing liquids and electronics can also put people off.

Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB Special Edition Torque DDR4 Memory Review

Corsair is still one of the dominant forces in the PC market, however they have widely diversified their product range over the years. From initially being just focused on memory kits they expanded their range to gaming peripherals, cooling solutions and enclosures. At Computex 2017 we even saw some early samples of upcoming 'Do It Yourself' water cooling products; however, the showstopper for many of the press was the new DDR4 limited Edition memory flagship, the Dominator Special Edition Torque kits. Quite a mouthful isn't it? Two 32GB versions were introduced, both based on the Samsung B-Die ICs, one kit being a Dual Channel version sporting two 16GB modules; the second version is the Quad Channel version, thus with four times 8GB modules. What made these so special was the intriguing look the Corsair Team managed to achieve; secondly that these are a limited edition only made people drool even more. Time to explore what the Torque hype is all about!

Crucial’s FREE Momentum Cache Works on Any NVMe SSD! - Our First Look at RAM Caching on NVMe SSDs

You heard that right. This is the first time we are exploring RAM caching on an NVMe SSD in this fashion. While many RAM caching softwares exist, no other SSD manufacturer has yet to enable RAM caching for NVMe SSDs in quite the way Crucial has. Crucial’s Momentum Cache feature, part of Crucial Storage Executive, is unlocked for all NVMe SSDs, or at least the ones we have tested in our Z170 test system; the key here, of course, is that a compatible Crucial SSD must initially be on the system to enable this feature at all. So…we have a OCZ RD400 in our system. When we install Crucial Storage Executive on the system with a Crucial MX300 installed as well, Crucial Momentum will work on just about any NVMe SSD. Remove the Crucial SSD and Crucial Momentum will still cache the OCZ RD400 NVMe SSD. The key here is, as long as the Crucial drive is there initially, the software works on any number of NVMe SSDs.

How to Block a Phone Number on iOS

Ah, cold callers, telephone spammers, telemarketers whatever you want to call them, theyre annoying. Frankly, its remarkable that companies still try the decades-old technique in this era, but I guess people still fall for the bait (or theyd stop doing it). Of course, the ability to block calls is also useful in more personal situations. Sure, you can block people on Twitter, Facebook, and all the other social networks, and you can send their emails straight to your Junk folder. But its also important to be able to stop people from contacting you by phone.

Noctua NH-L12S CPU Cooler Review

We are used to see high quality products under the Noctua logo so it’s not a surprise that we expect a lot from the NH-L12S cooler. The NH-L12S is a compact cooler designed for both AMD and Intel processors and looking at the specification, it can handle nearly all desktop processors.
We are going to check how the NH-L12S works on the mini ITX platform based on the AMD Ryzen. Eight cores of the 1700X processor will be good test for this small cooler. Since more gamers are moving to smaller builds then I think it will be also interesting for all who are thinking about small, yet powerful gaming PC.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Founders Edition Review

FE worth £419 of your cash? Nvidia's release of the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti GPU further cemented the firm's PC gaming credentials in the premium end of the market. With cards available for £420 from the usual bevy of add-in board (AIB) partners, the Ti variant, a conflation of the GTX 1070 and GTX 1080, represents business as usual.
True, except that this launch has been different because Nvidia has taken the unusual step of stopping partners from overclocking their cards out of the gate. Every GeForce GTX 1070 Ti we have come across features the same 1,607MHz core and 1,683MHz boost speeds, along with GDDR5 memory chugging along at 8Gbps. Such a strategy makes it very difficult for an AIB to sell its premium GTX 1070 Ti offering based on speed alone.
Nvidia's undisclosed rationale is that enabling partners to overclock as they wish, preserving the status quo that has existed for a long time, would put GTX 1070 Ti OC's performance too close the GTX 1080's for comfort. Does such thinking mean you should look at the cheapest GTX 1070 Ti, priced at £419, and run with that, overclocking as you go?
